Yam and Sweet Potato Pasta

Paleo Pasta
http://www.thewahlsfoundation.com/wp-content/uploads/slideshow-gallery/Paleo Pasta.jpegUse a vegetable spiralizer to turn raw veggies into 'pasta' (beetroot, sweet potatoes, summer squash, zucchini, rutabaga, carrots, etc)-- be careful not to overcook them or they'll become mushy! Make a grass-fed meat sauce with either fresh tomatoes or organic jarred tomato sauce & add whatever other veggies you like [bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, kale, carrots, broccoli, etc.

Does the Wahls diet work for R & R MS. I started trying it on Tuesday 12th March and my walking is getting worse already in one week on the diet. I didn’t realise that the food can be cooked, I have been eating raw veg which isn’t brilliant. I need more info. about the menus etc. Can you help please.
Thank you Ann
Dr Wahls story is inspirational! I was disgnosed with primary progressive MS Sept 2012. It was discouraging when told medication won’t help me. My D3 levels were very low. I decided on my own to begin a vitamin regiment & treat MS naturally. I bought a book which suggested vitamins. I take 14 kinds to include lots of D3. I notice a huge difference in how I feel. I recently had blood work done to see where my vitamin levels are at & everything is where it should be. My D3 is now within its range. I’ve been playing with my diet & trying to determine my intolerances. I’m going to do what Dr Wahls suggested. I exercise daily, hike, ride bikes, etc & want continue. I don’t want to ever rely on assistance. I won’t allow MS to control me. I will control MS!
I AM DEPRESSED OF MY FAILING BODY…. I WILL WORK AND RUN AGAIN BY EATING THE RIGHT FOODS TO HEAL MY BODY….I WILL WRITE A BOOK FOR THOSE WHO SUFFER AS I HAVE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS…………….THANK YOU TERRY FOR THIS GRAND DISCOVERY, AND FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE….GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY HE POUR OUT HIS BLESSING TO YOU. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME. WITH LOVE
I have read a lot about eating for improved health when living with an autoimmune disease (I, too, have MS) and I am confused by some of the items on the dinner plates. Nightshades (tomatoe, bell pepper) and yeast (fermented items) are two of the things I’ve read I should stay away from yet I see them listed and picture here. Can you help me understand?
Why are eggs not a good source of protein on the Wahls diet?
I have only just been told about you and as a cancer survivor (resection rectum) I am keen to eat in a much better programme.
I have mitochondrial myopathy with carnitine deficiency and B12 deficiency, as well as SLE. The SLE was diagnosed with kidney involvement (MPGN) in 1986. The mitochondrial myopathy in 2003. I was told it was genetic but now am hearing there may be an acquired form??
Genes, as evolutionary biologists know, just react to external stimuli and respond accordingly. So it depends mostly from the enviroment your genes are exposed (nutrients, air, water, emotive stress, physical stress, …)
Take care
